Three fragrances will be about as many as you can take without confusing your nose and getting mixed up in your mind.

A fragrance scent depends on both the condition of the skin and the individual’s diet. Whether you have dry or oily skin will determine how long a fragrance will last. As well as the traditional places; behind the ears and on the neck, try a light spray in your hair or applying the fragrance lower on your body so it rises. Another idea is to layer your fragrance by using a bath or shower gel, moisturizer or powder and then your fragrance to give a longer lasting effect. There is also the old trick of spraying the fragrance and walking through it to give that all over envelopment!

Does a fragrance last longer on moist or dry skin?
Perfumes cling to moist skin; they thrive when worn on emollient skin. The warmth of a body enables the fragrance to warm thereby releasing its true beauty. Dry skin lacks the necessary oils to hold fragrances and can even distort the scent. If you have dry skin, use a cap full of Perfume Originals Perfumed Body Oil after your shower. Product tip–put the body oil in a plastic spray bottle and spray or mist on. Then gently pat your skin dry. Do not rub your skin with a towel. Rubbing robs your skin of moisture and precious oils. Seal moisture into your skin with the hand and body lotion. Now apply your perfume.
What type of alcohol does Perfume Originals use in their perfumes and colognes?
Perfume Originals uses SD 40 (standard–denatured) alcohol.
What does the term layering mean?
Layering is the process of applying fragrance items with the same scent.
Why should fragrances be layered?
To avoid fragrance clash, that is the wearing of several different scents together. Shampoo, cream rinse, deodorant, etc. all have their own fragrance. Depending upon what you use, the conflicting scents can detract from the one scent you want to stress, that of your perfume. In one day you may come in contact with as few as 10 or as many as 30 different scents. Therefore layer your fragrances using Perfume Originals products to compliment your overall fragrance wardrobe. Use our essence oils to scent all of your beauty products and fragrance items. Perfume Originals essence oils and matching fragrance products are the key to your overall fragrance wardrobe.
How do I layer my fragrances?
First choose the fragrance you want to wear. Next scent your fragrance items, shampoo, cream rinse, hair spray, deodorant, etc. with the essence oil of your choice. Once you scent the items, begin your day with a fragrance bath or shower using our bubble bath/shower gel. If your skin needs additional moisture add body oil to your bath water, or apply after showering. Product note–put the body oil in a plastic spray bottle and apply after baths or showers. Seal the moisture into your skin with the hand and body lotion. Next, apply perfume to your pulse points. These areas include the inside of your wrists, elbow area, shoulders, behind your knees, cleavage area, below the adam’s apple, behind the ear, and your torso. Fragrances rise, so don’t overlook your legs and feet.

The base note, or foundation provides the most lasting effects of a fragrance.
Can you grade perfume according to strength?
Fragrances vary in strength, a factor that directly influences its price. The main ingredient is an alcoholic water solution. It is the percentage of perfume relative to the water that determines its strength.
Parfum is the strongest concentration and is compiled to provide exceptionally long-lasting fragrance from very little liquid. Parfum is the most expensive variant of the fragrance range.
Eau de Parfum (Edp) is the next strongest version and is intended to give a more enduring scent for a more reasonable price
Eau de Toilette (Edt) is the most popular and affordable concentration. Containing a higher percentage of water and fewer essential oils, Edt is nearly always presented in a spray
Eau de Cologne is weaker than Edt with a lower concentration of essential oils
Eau Fraiche has a very low fragrance content and is sometimes called ‘Perfumed Mist’. Often alcohol free, this concentration proves popular in the summer months
Edt Spray is generally the strongest concentration available and can be used on the body and on clothing but should not be used as an aftershave as it may cause irritation.
Aftershave is weaker than Edt so that it can be used on the face
Aftershave Balm is a perfumed lotion or cream of similar concentration
